Meatballs in Sweet & Spicy Sauce – Great Super Bowl Appetizer

Great Appetizer

I enjoy Super Bowl Sunday. This year, the NFL awarded the 2010 Super Bowl — Super Bowl XLIV — to Miami and the championship game will be played February 7, 2010 at Dolphin Stadium. My husband and sons usually watch, while I play bar wench, bringing in food and drinks. Well, not quite, but I do enjoy making simple appetizers that please the guys in my life.  I only watch the game for the commercials.

This year, I’ll make Sweet & Spicy Meatballs.  It’s a tried and true recipe that’s been around for a long time. And the best part, it’s so easy. Make them in a crock pot and it couldn’t be simpler.

Chicken Pot Pie for Dinner

For some it will work, for others, well good luck!!

A French Press Makes Excellent Coffee

Somewhere in the mid-19th century in France, the French press coffee maker was born.  This simple coffee brewing system consists of a narrow cylindrical beaker usually made of glass or clear plastic, equipped with a lid and a “plunger”, made of metal or plastic, which fits tightly in the cylinder and which has a fine wire or nylon mesh filter.

Fix Your Broken Kitchen Drawer: January’s Fix-It-Up Project

Clean, organized and working!

My first project of my Fix-It-Up series is to fix the drawers in my kitchen.  One runner had completely disappeared with no one admitting the deed, and the other rails were not staying in their tracks. This caused us over the months to push, pull and tug until one whole drawer front tore loose from the drawer itself.  My hubby fixed that problem but the root of the problem remained-drawers that wouldn’t slide.
