Umbrella Policy—Why Do I Need This Insurance?

Protect Your Assets

The definition of an Umbrella Policy is “pure liability coverage over and above the coverage afforded by the regular policy, and is sold in increments of one million dollars. The term umbrella is used because it covers liability claims from all policies underneath it, such as auto and homeowners insurance policies.

For example, if you have an auto insurance policy with liability limits of $500,000 and a homeowner’s insurance policy with a limit of $300,000, then with a million dollar umbrella, your limits become in effect, $1,500,000 on an auto liability claim and $1,300,000 on a homeowner’s liability claim”.

Send an E-Card—Save Your Postage

Send an E-Card

We want to remember the special people in our lives with a loving message on their special day.  But, if you add up the expense of the card and postage, multiply that by all your family and friends during the year, it adds up!  Even if you take my advice and only shop your dollar store for all your cards, you can still save even more by sending E-Cards.

There are free E-card websites, but many of them limit you to simple cards, enticing you to buy the nicer ones.  With many of them costing as much as a store bought cards.  Check out my favorite–Blue Mountain.

Easiest and Best Mustard Ham Sauce

Easy Ham Sauce

Just in time for Easter or any time of year, this recipe for Mustard Ham Sauce was given to me by a coworker.  It’s incredibly simple and so delicious.

Mustard Ham Sauce

3 eggs beaten
1/2 c tomato soup
1/2 c mustard
1/2 c vinegar (slight, just less than a half)
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c butter

Put in double boiler over medium heat and stir occasionally. Brush over ham. Enjoy!

Fixing Bifold Doors: Fix-It-Up Project for March

The Door that Wouldn't Close
The Door that Wouldn’t Close

This has been my easiest fix-it-up project so far this year. It’s funny…for months, my hubby and I have been trying to make the bi-fold closet door in our office close, pushing and pulling, but not taking the time to really look at the source of the problem. But once I did take a hard look, it only took about 5 minutes to fix.

Homemade Bleu Cheese Dressing

Cheese

This Bleu Cheese Dressing recipe I borrowed from my brother-in-Law.  It is my favorite dressing by a mile. I look forward to our family meals knowing that this is one of his staples.

The characteristic flavor of bleu cheeses tends to be sharp and a bit salty. Give it a try!
