Russian Monkeys – A Great Thrift Store Find

My Little Monkeys

One of my favorite thrift store finds has got to be my Russian Monkeys.  Measuring only 2 inches high, I think they are the cutest things ever.  I call them my Russian Monkeys because the box they came in is all in Russian…regardless of where they actually were made, they are my little Russian Monkeys to me.

They are actually little wooden salt and pepper shakers that have black plastic ears, nose, eyes and tails.  They sit in their wooden dish and brighten up my fireplace mantel.  They make me smile every time I look at them.  For only $7.50, I’d say that was a good investment!

I think they complement the wooden frame nicely. By the way, a friend painted that small scenic picture on an old piano key. Now that’s talent!
