Bariatric Food and Exercise Logs

The Bariatric Post Surgery Tracker Food and Exercise Logs were specifically designed for our friends who’ve had Bariatric surgery. After conversations with actual patients about their specific tracking needs, we found these logs to be helpful in navigating the post-surgery challenges. We created a Daily Food and Exercise Log as well as a Weekly Food and Exercise Log.

You may have noticed that we did not use the word “Bariatric” on our logs so as to be more discreet when displaying them on your refrigerator or bulletin board. You want easy access…not hidden away. We included a place to record your weight on the front of each Bariatric Tracker, but you can easily record that information on the back…it’s nobody’s business but yours!!

Bariatric Food & Exercise Log

Anyone desiring to track their food, nutrition and exercise on a daily and/or weekly basis can use these logs. They are especially useful for those on a high protein diet. Studies show that when keeping a food diary, whether after Bariatric surgery or for general health, is the key to losing and maintaining weight.

Planning

Like many other types of diets, planning is a huge component! Our logs provide a space to record your meal planning and calories consumed. We have also included a shopping list to help you navigate the grocery store.

Protein

Getting enough protein in your diet is essential. Protein helps maintain muscle and lose fat. So, it is recommended that you get between 60 – 80 grams daily.  We have provided a space to record your daily intake. We have also included suggestions for foods containing high amounts of protein to assist you with meal planning.

Supplements

Daily supplements are very important post-surgery to prevent nutrient deficiencies. We have included some important supplements that many of our Bariatric patients have shared with us. However, we suggest you discuss it with your doctor.

Water

Water is equally important, so it is suggested you drink at least 64 oz of water daily. There are boxes to check off as your daily reminder to take any supplements and drink enough water.

Exercise

Exercise is crucial for long-term weight loss and management after Bariatric surgery. Everyone has different restrictions and needs, so check with your doctor. There is a place to record all your physical activities such as cardio and strength training. We have also included a daily journal to record any sleep issues, struggles or changes in your mood. In the long run, the more information you record will not only keep you motivated, but in addition, provide more information to your doctors for a better outcome.

Success

Your successes are equally important to record! Because our Weekly Food and Exercise Log does not have a specific daily journal section, we suggest you record any important information on the back. Set goals, stick to your guns and then reward yourself with every success…maybe a movie night out, a spa treatment, or buy yourself a new outfit! You can do this!
