I don’t like funerals and I don’t like speaking in front of groups, small or large. No, let me rephrase that; I am terrified of speaking in front of groups! After losing our beloved golden retriever of 15 years, we are considering adding another dog to our family. However, this time we won’t be spending hundreds of dollars on a dog with papers. I grew up with dogs that we rescued from the shelters and they all made wonderful, loving pets.

We Moms have a hard time letting go of our “babies”. Now that it is time to say goodbye to those off to college, I hope you will find comfort in this.

This economy is forcing many of us to make changes and reprioritize the way we live our lives. In my opinion, money is much more about providing security not happiness. It is in our nature to want more. But maybe it is time that we start looking at what we need and not what we want.

I think of this poem’s message in times of stress and negative thoughts.
“There comes a point when you separate yourself from negativity–it simply does not exist. Your primary objective becomes to find a positive use for all things and events that you encounter, and from that day forward you know that you will succeed; you know that you will succeed because success is no longer just the attainment of a particular goal, but rather the continual daily commitment to progress–progress towards bettering yourself, your life, and most importantly, the lives of those around you”
