How to Get Kids to Help with Chores

Print Friendly

I am the mother of three sons…three sons that I did NOT want to grow up dependant on a woman, whether it be a mother or future wife, to cook and clean for them. I was a stay-at-home mom, but that shouldn’t make a difference in teaching kids responsibility.  So at a fairly young age, I had them learn various life lessons for themselves. They made their own breakfast, did their own laundry, learned to sew on a button, and had basic cooking lessons. At age 15, they got their own checking account and learned just how fast money can disappear, or accumulate, depending on their spending habits. And of course, they all had required chores to help around the house.

Ask and You May Receive…A Lower Bill!

Check Those BillsToday I had to call my TV/Cable company…not one of my favorite things to do.  It turns out that they’ve been charging me monthly for equipment that I returned 6 months ago.  I know, I know!  I should have been carefully looking over my bill every month, but the days are long and we are all in a hurry.  Some months, I just want to be sure they are paid on time.  I want to pass on some lessons-learned.

Paying More for Less at the Grocery Store

Print Friendly

Store Unit PricingI usually don’t miss much when dealing with money.  I know prices, I cut and use coupons.  I know the best places to shop for the best deals.  And in this economy I notice every little increase at the grocery store.  But they sneaked one by me—I missed this one!  I didn’t have a clue until my Mother shared an article out of one of her magazines.  We are paying more for less!  I know that some companies in the past have stooped to raising prices on an item while reducing the content.  But it seems to be widespread as of late.
