Kate Spade Purse – A Great Thrift Store Find

Kate Spade

I think someone at the thrift store that I frequent thought this may be just another purse. At first glance so did I; other purses on that rack were cabled and locked, but this one just sat on its own.

When I looked closer, I knew I had an original Kate Spade purse, not a knock off. All the zipper pulls had the logo, as well as the little metal feet. And I found the famous tag inside a pocket reading “Kate Spade 12324″ with a small Silver Thread running through it.

My Christmas Tree Thrift Store Challenge

Don't You?

Like many of you, I prefer an artificial tree to the real deal. With an artificial tree, I am able to decorate as early as I want which is usually Thanksgiving Day. With a live tree, there is the worry of drying out, needles everywhere, keeping it watered, as well as the fire hazard. I never understood the concept of cutting down a beautiful tree to enjoy for a few weeks. My parents use to buy a real potted Christmas tree to decorate and enjoy, then planted it in their backyard after the holidays—great idea!

Our last artificial tree was with us for many years. Last year, I noticed that the trunk had split and I was unable to repair it. After scouring the after-Christmas sales, I was unable to find my perfect tree at the perfect price.

Host a Fun and Frugal Swap Party

Print Friendly
Swap with your Friends

Why is it that someone else’s junk looks better than your junk? Maybe we’re tired of our extra clutter, and the neighbor is equally tired of hers. Why not host a friendly Swap Party? It’s a chance to swap your stuff with your friends, socialize and clean out your closet a bit.

Yard sales are hard work, and sometimes the pay-off doesn’t justify the time spent tagging, setting up and tearing down the sale, not to mention the 2 days sitting waiting for customers. Was it really worth the $75 you made? A swap party is economical, environmentally friendly because you’re reusing your items, and much more fun.

Save Bundles of Money

Two of my kids are headed back to college, and with it comes hefty textbook fees. I’ve researched some places to snag some cheaper textbooks. Some are sites that compare costs; some are sites where you can actually buy the books.
