Marbleized Paper Made With Chalk

Marbleize means to make something look like marble. Here is a fun project to create beautiful one-of-a-kind paper designs for making your own greeting cards. Because this process is easy, the entire family can get involved. You will need the following:
- 140 lb. watercolor paper
- Colored chalk sticks
- Large cake pan (large enough to hold the size of paper you choose)
- Wax paper
Fill your clean cake pan with warm water. Using a knife or potato peeler, shave off pieces of the chalk into the water. Don’t be afraid of using many colors. Lay a piece of your watercolor paper onto the surface of the water which will attract the color. You can also dip the entire piece of paper for a special effect on both sides. Remove the paper and place it onto the wax paper to dry. Don’t limit yourself to just greeting cards—use your imagination:
- Scrapbooking
- Matting for photos
- Place mats
- Art
