Getting Rid of Mice
Getting rid of mice can be a challenge especially if you live near an open space. Here are a few tips to rid your home of these little pests whether you prefer to trap them or take a more humane approach:
- If you prefer to use traps, use cotton balls to attract females (for nest building). Mice love peanut butter better than cheese. Gumdrops and dried fruit also work well.
- Set the traps along the edges of the wall, where they travel.
- Mice are allergic to oil of peppermint and will not stay where they can smell it. Add a few drops of the real oil on a cotton ball and place anywhere you have a problem with mice. Or add a few drops to a spray bottle and spray around the edges of the walls.
Many are now using ultrasonic pest control devises that you plug into an outlet to keep the pests away. One that my family recommends and has used for years is the Riddex Plus that you can purchase in stores like Walgreen’s or online at Amazon.com.
