Seal Plastic Bags with Old Plastic Bottles

Print Friendly

I was emailed this tip today from a friend, and since I’m all about saving money and not wasting a thing, I wanted to pass the idea on to you.  It’s simple and savvy! This tip is not only good for the pocketbook, it’s good for the environment too.

Cut up a disposable water or soda bottle like the photo shows.  Keep the top and cap, and recycle the remainder of the bottle.

Insert the plastic bag through the neck out the top, fold over the edges, and screw the top to seal. The bag is now air and water tight and will not leak. The screw cap keeps liquids from spilling.

You can reuse plastic zipper bags, produce bags, or any bag that would normally be thrown away. Plus the cap can be cleaned and reused countless times.
