A huge part of simplifying your life is to let others do the work for you, and for you to take the credit! This may sound horrible, but it’s true. How many of us create our own recipes from scratch every night? No! We usually take someone else’s creation and take the credit for whipping up a wonderful meal.

A Homely Home and Simple Pleasures

These poetic words are at the top of our Reflections category.  Lately, they have had even more significance to me.  My husband and I are selling our home of 15 years…partly because the mortgage is weighing on our shoulders, partly because our children are off to college, and partly because it just feels like the right time to me.

If you already have a good amount of alone time, or if you’ve changed and simplified your life enough to reduce the chaos and pressure in your life, you may be getting all the alone time you need.

After the Holidays, I always feel the need to declutter and organize. Perhaps it’s the indulgences of the season, from food to parties to shopping. It’s a bit overwhelming, and I don’t know about you, but it helps me to get my “ducks in a row.” It gives you a sense of order, and it will simplify your life.

Of course, the best time to do this is before the holidays. That way you can donate your items to the needy or a charity. You could sell some things on ebay to make some money. But who has time before the holidays arrive?  From Halloween on, we are thrust into the spirit of consumerism, whether we like it or not.
