Clean With A Lint Roller

lint roller

Geri knows that I’m the queen of quick cleaning.  Who has a whole day to devote to housecleaning? I know I don’t, and I would guess that you probably don’t either. So any quick and easy tip to make the job less time consuming is for me! Here’s another “wipe-and-a-promise” cleaning tip.

Preventing Wax Residue in Candle Holders

Pretty VotivesThe holidays is a perfect time to have candles burning around the house. Here’s a tip to get you through the holidays with just a tiny bit less stress.

To prevent the wax from sticking to glass votive, always put a little bit of water in the bottom of the glass votive before putting your candle in.  No more wax stuck to the glass!

No Sinking Spoon Tip

Cute Spoons

Here’s a quick tip for every oatmeal, soup, or cereal lover.  Have you ever looked down at your bowl, and see your spoon quietly slip to the bottom.  Now you have to fish it out, clean it off, only to have it sink to the bottom again. Arggg!

Here’s a great tip! Just put your spoon curve side down in your bowl and voila! Problem solved.  No more fishing for spoons.

Easy Ways to Measure Without a Ruler

DollarWithRuler

I have fond memories of my dad “walking” off a room dimension with his feet. That was my first experience with these tricks for measuring without a ruler.

Geri and I love to shop whether it be the hardware store, a furniture store, or the local thrift store. It’s easy to spend hours meandering up and down the isles.  Many times, we spot the perfect item for our home, but we’re not sure if its the right size. These tips will help you.  Use these everyday items to approximate the dimensions, take the measurements home, and find just the right chair for your bedroom.  Don’t forget to carry a small pad of paper with you to write them down.

Send an E-Card—Save Your Postage

Send an E-Card

We want to remember the special people in our lives with a loving message on their special day.  But, if you add up the expense of the card and postage, multiply that by all your family and friends during the year, it adds up!  Even if you take my advice and only shop your dollar store for all your cards, you can still save even more by sending E-Cards.

There are free E-card websites, but many of them limit you to simple cards, enticing you to buy the nicer ones.  With many of them costing as much as a store bought cards.  Check out my favorite–Blue Mountain.
