The Christmas rush began with Black Friday and ends Christmas Day, or so you thought!  Before you can tackle the after Christmas sales you have to deal with the long lines returning those gifts that just didn’t work out for whatever reason.  Before you get in line know the store’s policies which you will be able to find online in detail.  I have listed a few links below for your convenience.

If you want a full refund you will need to provide a sales slip or gift receipt and return the item unopened, and in the original packaging.  Policies vary with returns without a receipt. Many times you will have to accept store credit for the lowest price that the item has sold for in recent weeks.  Some stores will not accept returns without a receipt, period! If you are returning a gift that is defective, you should have no difficulty in exchanging like items.

If you are not satisfied with the decision made by the person assisting you, ask to speak with a store manager. If you are not satisfied or cannot reach a resolution, you can file a complaint with the state Attorney General’s office or a local consumer agency.

Be prepared by always asking for a gift receipt along with return policies and pass that information on to the person receiving your gift.  It will make the process easier for everyone involved.  Good luck!!
